Young Religious Leaders Fellows joined UNITE HERE Local 11 and hundreds of striking LAX-area hotel workers for a march on Century Boulevard, demanding a life-changing contract for hospitality workers and affordable housing for all Californians
The largest hotel worker strike in California’s history has involved thousands of workers from 33 hotels spanning from Downtown Los Angeles to LAX to Orange County. This strike signifies a tipping point for our city.
While the wealthy enjoy lives of luxury, those who contribute to the prosperity and beauty of Los Angeles, including room attendants, servers, and cooks, struggle to make ends meet. This fight ultimately revolves around the crucial question of whether these individuals can afford to live in the very city they help to thrive.
