TUESDAY:  Live Press Conference on the Misrepresentation and Malignment of Haitian Immigrants and Immigrants of Color

Politicians continue to spew hateful, harmful, and racist lies about Haitian immigrants in the city of Springfield, Ohio, despite their unwarranted claims being debunked by Springfield’s city officials, Mayor, and the Governor of Ohio.

Faith leaders in Los Angeles are appalled by the former President and Vice- Presidential candidate J.D. Vance’s outright lies and racist rhetoric. Moreover, Los Angeles clergy and faith leaders are appalled by the deafening silence of white American clergy who fail to call for an immediate end of the overture of physical harm and psychological violence rendered upon the Haitian community and immigrants of color by the unfettered words of the former President and his V.P. candidate.

Black and Latinx clergy and community will let it be known that they stand with the Haitian and immigrant community and call for them to be treated with dignity and respect. Furthermore, we view the immigrant community as our siblings. And we will not tolerate or condone any words or acts that seek to diminish their humanity and deny them access and opportunity to live in freedom in the United States.

Tomorrow we will amplify the voices calling and defending the humanity and dignity of all our migrant community, the belonging of all of God’s children.
