Saturday, October 29, 2022 8AM to 10AM
McCarty Memorial Christian Church
Fellowship Hall, 4103 W Adams Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90018
Join Co-Emcees Pastor Cue Jn’Marie and LA City Council Member Eunisses Hernandez for the King Chavez Breakfast as they facilitate a space for our Black and Brown Clergy and Community members to listen and share the struggles of our communities.
The situation unfolding at the LA City Council is why we started Black and Brown Clergy and Community Coalition at the community level many years ago, building trust through relationships so we could face injustice in solidarity. It is clear that our City Council is not on the same page. We deserve better.
At the 2022 King Chavez Breakfast we’ll talk about community safety and community strength. We’ll examine our access to parks and grocery stores, mental health treatment centers and major businesses. And we’ll explore the role that faith communities can play TODAY in building the Beloved Community.
Together we can build a Los Angeles in which everyone is cared for, absent of poverty, hunger, and hate. Join us!
Our separate struggles are really one – a struggle for freedom, for dignity and for humanity
– Martin Luther King, Jr.
From the depth of need an despair, people can work together, can organize themselves to solve their own problems and fill their own needs with dignity and strength.
– Cesar Chavez
