The Young Religious Leaders Fellowship (YRLF) is a dynamic fellowship program that combines weekly cohort meetings with supervised hands-on community organizing to develop future and current leaders to make a faith-based contribution to economic justice work.

We are looking for applicants who are:

  • Passionate about economic justice.
  • Intrigued by the power of faith-rooted organizing to bring about meaningful change.
  • Eager to explore the intersections of low wages, racism, immigration, and faith.

What You’ll Gain:

  • A deepened understanding of how faith and justice intersect

Fellowship Details:

  • Stipend: $7,200
  • Dates: June 9 – August 15, 2025 (10 weeks)
  • Commitment: 40 hours per week, with some evening and weekend hours involved for occasional actions (usually with advance notice). Schedule flexibility is essential because organizing work often takes place outside of daytime work hours.
  • Location: Los Angeles & Orange Counties (weekly in-person cohort meetings)

Program Structure:

  • Weekly cohort meetings: Engage in interactive training, storytelling, and faith reflection with cohort members.
  • Fieldwork with CLUE: Participate in one-on-one meetings, organizing committee meetings, picket lines, event planning, and other advocacy efforts.
  • Personal & Professional Development: Receive mentorship from experienced organizers and develop leadership skills.

Who Should Apply?

  • Young leaders (including college and grad students, recent grads, and those exploring diverse paths in work and service)
  • Those committed to faith, justice, and advocacy (all faith traditions welcome – CLUE is an interfaith organization)
  • Individuals who are self-motivated, adaptable, and ready to take action

Requirements:

  • Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to be flexible, as organizing work can change at the last minute
  • Available for all 10 weeks of the fellowship from June 9-August 15, 2025
  • Available to work 40 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend hours for some actions (usually with advance notice)
  • Ability to participate in-person in campaigns in Los Angeles and Orange Counties
  • Driver’s license and access to a vehicle desired, but not required
  • Personal laptop helpful, but not required
